In the year 1982 Raila amollo odinga alias baba was detained by Moi era on treason charged, he was detained for period of 6 yrs until 1988 when he was involved in multiparty campaigns ,in 1990 he was rearrested but later released after one year Later in 1991 he fled to Norway over assassinations' fears.
After short stay in Norway ,he returned home and joined Forum for the restoration of democracy FORD, he vied for parliamentary seat then and won lang'ata..later Raila amollo odinga quite FORD and formed national democratic party NDP.
Raila amollo odinga first stab in high office in the republic of kenya was the year 1997,but he lost against the incumbent president then Moi, this failure to clinch top seat led the merger between NDP and KANU.
Lucky was beckoning enigma political landscape when in 2001 to 2002 became energy ministry in Moi era, in year 2002,Raila fell of from KANU and formed LDP teamed up with national alliance of kenya to form NARC, they defeated the ruling party KANU Uhuru Kenyatta.
in the 2005,Raila Odinga led Orange camp to oppose the proposed constitution , later two year, Raila tried his second stab in presidency but this time it was Orange democratic party ODM, by then he had powerful people around him, dubbed the pentagon, that includes Willian samoei ruto eldoret north mp,najib balala mvita mp,mdavadi from western region, without forgetting deceased Joseph nyaga ,amongst many, the team could deliver many votes to Raila amollo odinga but for some reasons Mwai Kibaki was announced the winner by the ERC chair Kivuitu, the result led to eruption of chaos that led to several people placements ,loss of life and properties.
in the yr 2008,Raila Odinga became the second prime minister following the truce between Mwai kibaki and odinga which was made possible by Koffi Anan. Things couldn't go well as planned that made Raila opt out and continued his journey of clinching the presidency.
In the 2013 contested for the third time for the top seat ,but this time round, vied under CORD and again he lost it to uhuru,uhuru had joined hand with son of peasant from eldoret william ruto, together rift valley and central delivered enough for uhuru to win against Raila.
Raila never lost hope, for the fourth time he again tried.2017 august with new constitution in place, again he lost it against Uhuru jubilee party ,His NASA party went to court to challenge uhurus victory and cj then maraga declared the election null and void. Maraga directed a repeat of election which baba didn't agree unless his minimum requirements were met of which were impossible, election was was repeated but baba didn't acknowledge its result either since he didn't participate, Raila went ahead and swear himself as the peoples president.
Railas spirit of becoming president of republic of Kenya was alive and strong, in the year 2018 he reconciled with uhuru and shook hand before millions of Kenyans the handshake developed enemy between the president and his deputy Mr. Ruto . It didn't end well since the president backed up Raila for the fifth stab in the top seat..
2022 was the year for Raila,it was a do or die political events ever witnessed in kenya, Raila went all his way to convince the mountain that he was the chosen liberator ,he traversed the country seeking votes in all 290 constituencies and 47 counties of Kenya, everyone was convinced that it was time for baba, AZIMIO LA UMOJA was the bus to take us to that promised land Canaan ,even me here bonface nyakundi had prepared for babas win, the blue code dress was allover kenya, blue was the color ,on the other hand Ruto UDA party were prepared much ahead of even deep state.
I will just leave this here because the more i keep writing this the more emotional i become and i end up writing what i didn't intend ,to cut the story short , Ruto outsmarted the whole brigade of Azimio la umoja ,Baba again painfully lost...
